Quagga mussels (Dreissena spp.), a zebra mussel relative, were recently discovered in Lake Mead at the Katherine Landing Marina on docks and hulls of houseboats (http://www.nps.gov/lame/parknews/3-07.htm). 

Starting on January 28th, UNLV will be competing in the RecycleMania contest to see which college and university recycling program can collect the largest amount of recyclables per capita over a 10-week period.
